Our humble abode (for now)

So we are no longer staying with our friends (Trion and Liz) and last weekend moved into our own place. We are yet to find a place we feel is suitable to stay longer term and so have moved into the below photographed place for a couple of months.

Its a funny story actually. We were inspecting the basement flat in this particular building but didn't really like it, and the agent happened to mention that a kiwi couple had split up, with the guy leaving the girl to head back to NZ. The girl could not afford to keep the place on her own and was looking for someone to take over the lease for the remainder of the term (2 months). So in a way, this has worked out in our favour.  As such, we spent quite a bit of last weekend buying stuff from Argos and Robert Dyas (online retailers).

For those in the know, we are living in Newington Green (still in the borough [English way of saying area] of Islington). Its just north of Angel, the actual area we are looking to live in. Hopefully we should be able to secure a permanent place over the next few weeks.

Other than that, we are looking to go to Belgium for the Easter long weekend.

London Tip #2 - Thou shall have as small a backyard as possible. No wonder England is so crap at cricket, they have no backyards to play it in!
