Lake Garda, Italy
28th August 2007Long weekend in Italy lakes district
There was a bank holiday (English for public holiday) on this weekend. So we took the Tuesday off and headed out to the Italian lakes district for a well earned break. Lake Garda is in the northern part of Italy, with Verona being the best airport to fly into. We hired a car (Ford Ka) and drove the hour and half to Gardone Riveria (mid-western Lake Garda region). Yes Italy does drive on the wrong side of the road (drive on the right), it was a little challenging, especially in a manual car. We spent most of our time in and around the lake promenade and our hotel pool area, taking day trips to Riva, Sirmione and Verona.
All in all, a very nice and relaxing trip, where we both worked on our tans.
