8th - 10th August 2008Edinburgh Fringe Festival
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is an annual arts festival that has a lot of comedy performances. Ashika and I got in early, booked accommodation and flights. We let Simon and Adele know (they were with us when we visited Loch Ness last year - here) who were glad to join us.
We flew to Edinburgh on the Friday night after work. Having walked around half of Edinburgh to find where to get the keys for our apartment, we finally dumped our gear and headed back out. We actually got upgraded since the apartment we were assigned was under renovation, and we got a luxury apartment right on the Royal Mile very close to the Castle, see pics below.
Over the next few days we saw many shows, some of which started at midnight. Long days, late nights and much beer (and pitcher of Mojito on Saturday night - Simon!!) The other notable was the bike tour of Edinburgh city from which we got wet to a point where you can't get wet any more. Edinburgh is one place that makes London weather look like that of Hawaii.
Anyway, great time, we'll go back to see the city in better weather.
