They open the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace during the northern summer. So Ashika booked some tickets for us to go and see it.

Croatia

Having heard for quite some time that the Dalmatiasn Coast and the islands within it are a cheaper alternative for the Greek Islands, we decided to see what the fuss was about. We spent 2 days each in Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik.

Brighton Beach

Right, let's get this straight, 'beach' is a very loose term when people refer to Brighton Beach in the UK. But, that said, we decided to take advantage of Nation Rail's 4 person day pass and go to Brighton for the day with Jeremy and Emma (who we met on the Turkey tour). Luckily we were blessed with great weather.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Each year there is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world’s largest arts festival. Our main purpose for going to the Fringe was the comedy performances that take place. We went with Simon and Adele (I'd worked with Simon while I was at Deloitte) who we'd previously accompanied to Loch Ness.

The Maldives

It's not often that you celebrate your 5th year wedding anniversary. As such, we decided to do something we'd always wanted to, an over-water bungalow  in the Maldives.

Centre Court, Wimbledon

Having entered the public ballots for Wimbledon tickets, we were very surprised when 10 days prior to it starting, we received notification that we'd secured tickets to centre court for day 4 of the first week.

Turkey

Unfortunately we missed out on seeing the Mohammad Ali mosque in Cairo, so we just had to book to see the Blue mosque in Istanbul (it's twin).

Devan from Au visits

Devan Naidoo (friend from Australia) was in town for work and visited us for dinner on Sunday night. It was a very nice dinner as Rita was still around and we all got to have a home cooked (by Ashika) curry meal.

Trip to Euro Disneyland and Paris

We decided to take the visiting guests to France. What better way to occupy school aged kids, then by spending some time at Disneyland (Euro). We also spent some time in Paris, the city of lurve!

Our new place in Angel


We have been here for 2 months now, but in between working in Texas and Norway and all the other things going on, I haven't been able to put any photos of our new place up. Tour of our place, we will put more photos as time goes on.

Brian from Au visits





Ashika's friend Brian from work in Australia (NAB) visited us in London en-route to the states. We met him on the Saturday and went to Spittlefields markets near Brick Lane (famous in London for the strip of Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants). It was a beautiful day to be out and about and we came home with Indian sweets for some dessert after having had lunch at the markets (Brian had Ethiopian food while Ashika and I had Thai).
